Build Your Own DIY Google Home Smart Speaker

Have you seen those commercials of the smart speakers like the Google Home and Amazon Echo that can answer your questions, order your pizza, and turn your lights on and off? Cool right? How about building your own though? And not just any smart speaker–your very own Google Home that you and customize in all sorts of interesting ways.

Join Mind+Hand’s Makerspace Coordinator, Tony Landek, as you walk through steps to build a Google Home Smart Speaker. We will use the new Google AIY Voice Kit and a Raspberry Pi to create a fully functional, DIY version of the Google Home. Visit aiyprojects.withgoogle.com/voice to learn more. Also, learn a little about the Raspberry Pi credit-card sized computer too!

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

Cost: $50 dollars— Covers the cost of materials including a Google AIY voice kit, Raspberry Pi 3, and a MicroSD card. If you already have a Raspberry Pi 3 (or Pi2 w/ WIFI adapter), please contact us before registering.
